We are still in need of certain cannon characters. If you do decide to take on a cannon however you must be active with that charrie. This means you are required to post up for that charrie or it may go back up on the adoption list. This also means if a new member comes onto the site and wants to play that cannon and you have not been active, then they have to option of putting in an application to take that charrie so that it is played.
(Certain restrictions / exceptions apply.)
Draco Malfoy ||Hugo Weasley
These Cannon Characters already have a subplot in the works. If you would like to take on and play either one, then please talk to HP or Mama C and we will fill you in on what is happening so you can adapt to the plot.
... you get grounded from Greens cause your parents say you spend to much time there ... and your 22.
....you think of great plot twists in your sleep and cause yourself to go to work late to post.
… you start telling your friends about Greens and make it your goal in life to convince them to join.
… you think of your posts at work & write down everything while on lunch break.
… you find yourself daydreaming about Greens and the Characters.
… you go on hiatus for a time and always find yourself back on Greens.
… you place a small little advertisement in a newspaper (without managers knowing) while working for the news paper industry.
… you've made it the homepage on your phone's mobile browser, just so you can check in every five minutes.
… you help to come up with a list to prove that people are addicted to Green's.
… you act out your character's actions in front of your friends, while they wonder if you're crazy or not.
… you plan to name your future children after characters on Greens.
... you put off eating just so you can try and catch up on posts even though you know you're still gonna be behind.
... you obsess that the world is going to end because your internet is down and you can't get on Greens.
... talk to your friends about what is going on with Greens like the events are actual occurrences in your life.
...you sit outside a library after hours in your car during a hot Southern summer day just so you can use the free wifi to finish posting!
… you start to type in your character name instead of the celebrity when searching for a new picture.

Providence Creature Application « Thread Started on Oct 15, 2009, 5:25pm »
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT
You may not RP as your creature claim UNTIL it has been approved.
If you are considering a creature claim for your character, then you must put in an application and it must be done appropriately to be considered. Also, you may not be a half and half such as a half vampire-half veela, etc. Please bear in mind, that not all students will be granted a creature claim, so keep this in mind when applying. You may not create a character that is "God-like", all knowing, all seeing etc. They must have limitations.
If you get are granted a creature claim then you must make it real and take some time to develop it, you cannot just *POOF* be perfect at what you do. You must consider that there will be weakness with your abilities and you must post with that in mind. If granted, you CANNOT change it, under any circumstances.

** Please note: The character strengths must parallel their weaknesses. **
We will add information on the Werewolf and the Veela in the future.
Vampire Information:
We found a great site that gives a side by side comparison on vampires from twelve different authors depicting a list of over 200 traits based on these authors. Please visit this link to see for yourself. We can also send you an excel sheet with the same information in an easy to read spreadsheet. We ask that you RP based on these “truths” depicted below, so everyone is on the same page, it just makes it easier to manage when we have rules.
General Information:
Vampires appear the age at which they became a vampire, so if your vampire was turned at age 10, then they will appear to be 10 years old. A vampire is 'frozen' at the moment of conversion. That is, hair and nails can be neither shortened nor lengthened, tattoos don't stick, etc. Vampires are a kind of undead. Vampire skin is unnaturally pale and cold to the touch. The pallor and coldness decreases after feeding. A vampire's heart beats, but it is too slow to hear it. Vampires are still sexually functional.
Becoming a Vampire:
You become a vampire by suffering fatal blood loss and drinking (or being injected by) a vampire's blood. The new vampire appears dead for some time before rising. A newly made vampire will wake ravenous and will tend to attack anyone within range (unless fed as part of the process).
Feeding:
Vampires can be sustained by animal blood, but not for long. Vampires have fangs and are retractable. Blood must be 'fresh' (from a living person, not stored or refrigerated or synthetic). Vampires no longer need 'regular' food and are not physiologically able to eat solid food.
Special Abilities:
Vampires tend to have the same supernatural traits/abilities as their sire/creator. Damage resistance, high strength and fast healing. Superhuman perception (e.g. sight, hearing, mystical). Hypnotic mind control, but the mind control requires eye contact. Superhuman speed. Flight/Levitation. Inhuman stealth (Sometimes to the point of invisibility). Please note: Since vampires already come with many special abilities additional abilities will not be approved.
Strengths:
A vampire is immune to mortal diseases A vampire can no longer contract mortal diseases, but can still be a carrier Vampires have control over animals Old vampires tend to be stronger but generally just because the strong ones are better at not getting killed
Weaknesses:
Vampires can become intoxicated by drugs or alcohol secondhand (e.g. by drinking from an intoxicated victim) Animals can sense vampires and feel threatened by them Please also see Death/Harm below
Death/Harm:
A stake through the heart causes permanent death Sunlight causes nearly instant combustion and is nearly always fatal (unless the vampire is a day walker but sun still affects them) Sunlight causes severe burns and discomfort and is fatal after extended exposure Sunlight must be direct to be effective Vampires suffer more than usual damage from fire If invulnerable to normal attack, wood is one of the few substances that will harm a vampire Beheading causes permanent death Dead vampires decompose/disintegrate as a function of age Cross if effective, burns vampiric flesh on contact, but may be replaced with other religious symbols according to the belief system of the wielder and/or vampire Holy Water if effective, burns (like acid) and can cause severe damage in quantity
Your Choice:
These are things that differ between authors, so it is your choice if your vampire has the following abilities or weaknesses. Vampires have no reflection in mirrors or water. When you drink from a vampire (without being dead first) they gain some power over you. Crosses if effective, burns everything on contact, if you are RPing to attack a vampire – make sure you both are on the same page. Holy Water can reverse or halt effects of vampiric attack, if you are RPing to attack a vampire – make sure you both are on the same page. A stake must be made of wood to be effective, if you are RPing to attack a vampire – make sure you both are on the same page. Vampires can be sustained indefinitely by animal blood (without suffering deleterious side effects). Being fed on is pleasurable for the human victim. Crosses are more effective in the hands of believers. Crosses are ineffective. Vampires can summon certain animals. If invulnerable to normal attack, fire is one of the few substances that will harm a vampire. Vampires have control only over specific animals. Vampires can function normally during the day, provided they avoid the sun. Only the oldest/most powerful vampires can function during the day or if they come from a long aged bloodline. A child of a vampire and a mortal results in a 'Dhampir', with some vampiric abilities and fewer of the weaknesses.
